Meaning of 魔法

魔法 (mófǎ) is magic and sorcery — 魔 (demonic, supernatural) and 法 (method, law). Distinct from 巫术 (shamanic craft) and 仙术 (Taoist immortal arts).

To say Magic in Chinese, pronounce 魔法 as Mó fǎ. The marks over the letters show the tones — the pitch contour that distinguishes Mandarin syllables.
